Akshata Murty

Akshata Murty is an Indian businesswoman, fashion designer and venture capitalist based in the United Kingdom. She is the daughter of N. R. Narayana Murthy, the co-founder of Infosys, and Sudha Murty.

Murty holds a degree from Claremont McKenna College in economics and French. She also has a diploma in garment manufacture from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising and an MBA from Stanford University.

She is married to Rishi Sunak, the former Chancellor of the Exchequer and current Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Their marriage has brought increased scrutiny of her financial affairs and tax status, particularly regarding her non-domiciled status in the UK, which allowed her to avoid paying UK taxes on her foreign income. She later announced she would begin paying UK taxes on her worldwide income.

Murty owns a stake in Infosys, which she inherited from her father. She also has business interests including a fashion label, Akshata Designs, and is the director of Catamaran Ventures UK, a venture capital firm.
